MS WELLNESS

MS Wellness and Health determine your quality of life. 

Manage your health and follow up regularly with your team. 

A few wellness and health tips:

  • Have and follow up with a primary care provider regularly

  • Exercise regularly (walking in the park , swimming, other activities that you enjoy)

  • Eat a balanced diet with fruits/vegetables, lean meat (protein), carbohydrates and fats.

  • Manage your stress level and practice deep breathing exercises (meditation and other modalities)

 SMOKING

Smoking has been associated with MS disease progression.

Counseling and management to quit smoking is available upon request. 

 DIET

There is no specific diet pattern that was proven to be determined for patients with MS. The Mediterranean diet is highly recommended. 

EXERCISE

Exercise such as, aerobic program has been linked with better cognitive function. Other exercise modalities have been associated with better functional outcomes.  

VITAMIN D

Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with increased risk for MS. It is unclear if vitamin D deficiency is linked with progression of MS.
